How to Enter
If you want to start your own business, or are less than six months into your new venture, tell us about your business plan and the greatest business challenge that you are currently facing and you could be on your way to receiving a significant helping hand to get your business of the ground!
Every business start-up has a number of hurdles to overcome before it can thrive - we want to hear about your business plan and the greatest challenge that you face in your new venture and you could win an amazing package of prizes to help you get started in business. It's as simple as that. Tell us about your business plan, along with the greatest challenge you face in getting your business up and running successfully, and you'll be entered into the BT Be Your Own Boss Challenge.
From the entries received by midnight on Wednesday 27th February, based on the viability of the business plan, BT Business competition judges will select 24 budding entrepreneurs to come to One Life Live on Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd March to meet with a panel of leading business experts. Each of the selected entrants will be given a few minutes to explain their business plan and their particular challenge to the panel of experts.
The panel will then provide each finalist with 15 minutes of invaluable, free business advice to help them overcome their challenge.
Following all of the presentations on the Sunday 2nd March the business experts will select one winner of the BT Be Your Own Boss Challenge. The winner will be the entrant deemed to have the business plan most likely to succeed.
The panel will be looking for an entrepreneur with a sound business proposition, that has been well researched and well planned, and who has a good understanding of their target audience and revenue streams. It need not be a business start-up offering a completely new product or service, but the winner will need to demonstrate how they plan to bring their own touch of innovation to their business.
